Course Topics

User Experience Best Practices

Why are websites and technology laid out in a particular way? Students will learn how to ensure that they are designing products that fit in with existing trends.

User Journeys

No element of a user interface exists in vacuum. Students will study how the various user-facing elements of a product combine to produce a holistic journey.

Branding and Colors

The color choices that are made when designing an interface affect more than aesthetics. Students will learn how choice and use of color help drive users to take desired actions.

Mobile-First Design

Smartphone adoption has far outpaced traditional computers. Students will learn the key principles of mobile user experience and learn how it is similar to, and different from, a more traditional web experience.

Research and Testing

How do you know if your user experience is appropriate to your audience? How do you know if you’ve designed a successful user experience? How do you improve your user experience? Students will learn how to answer these questions by doing customer research and prototype testing.
